Description
This project will assist in the manufacture and assembly of micro-UAV quadcopters that will be used both in MEC4127F, as well as in research outputs with the MechatronicSystems.Group
Scope of work:
This vacation work project will entail:
- The additive manufacture of quadcopter frames using 3D printing,
- The additive manufacture of quadcopter attitude rigs using 3D printing,
- Basic soldering of components for the quadcopter,
- Assembly of the quadcopter hardware (motors, flight controller, speed controllers) on the quadcopter frame,
- Integration of the quadcopter platform and attitude rig,
- Firmware deployment onto the quadcopter flight controller,
- Basic unit testing to confirm that the full system is working correctly.
Required skills
Note that you are not expected to know how to 3D print or have any experience with quadcopters or firmware deployment. However, a foundational understanding of basic soldering is highly advised.
